Conversely, the black test lead should be placed on the cathode of the diode. The cathode is the negative terminal of the diode. This configuration ensures that the diode is forward-biased correctly.
Expected Forward-Biased Resistance
When a diode is properly forward-biased, the resistance measured by the digital VOM should range from 1000 Ω to 10 MΩ. This range indicates that the diode is functioning correctly and allowing current to pass through in the forward direction.
