How to Calculate Total Resistance in a Circuit?
Understanding Circuit Resistance
Calculation of Total Resistance
To calculate the total resistance of resistors connected in series, you simply add up the individual resistance values. Since we have four 100 Ω resistors, the total resistance would be:Total Resistance = 100 Ω + 100 Ω + 100 Ω + 100 Ω
Total Resistance = 400 Ω
Therefore, when you test the circuit with a digital VOM, you should read a total resistance value of 400 Ω.
