The Similarity Between Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells
Cell membranes are a common feature shared by prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. These membranes serve as a protective barrier that separates the cell's internal environment from the external environment. They control the movement of substances in and out of the cell, contributing to the cell's overall function and stability.
While prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have cell membranes, they also have distinct differences. Prokaryotic cells, such as bacteria, do not have a clearly defined nucleus and their genetic material floats freely in the cytoplasm. On the other hand, eukaryotic cells have a nucleus enclosed in a membrane that separates the genetic material from the cytoplasm. Eukaryotic cells can be found in plants, animals, fungi, and protists.
